Automatic Chemical dosing for water treatment

With wastewater regulations fairly rising, after about 80 percent of wastewater worldwide is flowing back into the ecosystem without being treated there’s a rise in the need for efficient, hassle-free, automatic water treatment solutions. And in this moving world, at these unpredictable times…What better solution than one that can be automatic, interconnected, scalable, and remotely controlled without delicate, high-maintenance equipment.

Automatic Chemical dosing for water treatment Solution…

A sustainable and automatic solution for precise chemical dosage on cutting edge water treatment processes.

Automatic Chemical dosing for water treatment Solution

This fully automated technology for water treatment and purification, applies to a range of solutions from standard water treatment to low-cost recirculation.

Particularly for a differentiated solution based on the Molecular Renovation Technology (MRT) ® which restores the residual water components to their natural state through the molecular restructuring of the water itself.

For this solution to be fully automated ensures a precise dosage of reagent according to the influx waste water conditions, to guarantee an outlet of purified water fully compliant to regulations of reuse and discharge, or desired standards without extra sophisticated or delicate operating equipment. The only outputs being clean water and organic inactive sludge.

The desired water characteristics can be further adjusted to the standards the client wishes to meet and the specific requirements of each project in order to optimize operative costs and investment. In order to reduce up to 50% of manual operating costs (specialized personnel, rotation, training, human error, etc.) the automation of this solution takes away the problem of having to change the dosing values in the chemical dispenser manually, assuring precise dosage and results quality.

In this system, Arduino PMC is used as a main controller (selected after extensive testing) due to the IIOT oriented connectivity, the ease of use either with the Arduino IDE (open source oriented) or the new PLC IDE, the processing capabilities and the industrial hardware capabilities in relation to the cost.

The architecture implemented is: an electromagnetic flowmeter connected to an analog input of the PMC, a digital output controlling an on/off pump via a Delta VFD, and a digital pulse train output for controlling the dispensing of the chemical.

The chemical dispenser is a motorized mechanism with a control interface in which you can program the resolution of the dispensing in proportion to a number of pulses received with a switching frequency not more than 10 Hz.

The system also has an HMI in which you can monitor / change production values such as the on/off time for the pump, the pulse train proportion (dosing resolution per pulse), amongst otherThis HMI also controls the basics such as Auto /Manual /maintenance modes, system start / stop, etc.

This HMI has an embedded trend chart in which you can monitor real time the flow and dosing values, and an alarm system for if anything goes out of control (values too high or too low). This HMI has limited resources to store the amount of data needed for the application (1 week of storage).

Thanks to the IIOT oriented connectivity, this process gives us unlimited potential. The next step is to take the analytics further, implementing IIOT strategies so we can have more than 1 week of data and also implement a single source of truth for this devices, web-oriented.

With this architecture, we made the PMC a micro PLC with edge and IIOT capabilities
